The Indonesian Agency for Agricultural Research and Development through the Indonesian Center for Agricultural Biotechnology and Genetic Resource Research and Development (ICABIOGRD) collaborated with FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization), held training "The International Training on Software Testing to Support DOI Implementation on Rice Germplasm" with the aim to introducing this DOI system and testing the system in managing rice data.
This training is one of the activities of Benefit-Sharing Fund (BSF) from ITPGRFA (International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture). The training held at Salak hotel, Bogor for 9 days (22 April 2018-1 May 2018) involved several countries namely Zambia, Malaysia, Philippines, India and Bhutan. From Indonesia, besides ICABIOGRAD, representatives from ICRR, Research Center for Biotechnology LIPI, and representatives of BPTP South Sumatra, BPTP Yogyakarta, BPTP East Kalimantan, BPTP Central Kalimantan and BPTP West Nusa Tenggara were also present.
Each participant repairs the rice database before DOI registration, then the participants will register the DOI rice data with the DOI toolkit provided. It is expected that at the end of this activity the data from each participant will be registered with DOI and the data can be used together for the purposes of research and development of rice.
